Marché Central Visit one of the largest and most fascinating markets throughout Cameroon. Each day goods are offered but the main market is Monday. The traders travel to Maroua to offer their products.
Marché Lumo Baba On Sundays on the banks of the Mayo Kaliao.
Marché Uro Chede The interesting market takes place on Sundays and has a diverse range of goods. It is located on the outskirts of Maroua on the road towards Salak / Garoua.
Arts & Crafts Center at the Marché Central At the entrance of the Marché Centre the Centre Artisanat is located. Here you will find many souvenirs made of leather and wood.
COOPAPEN High-quality arts and crafts products can be found in the neighborhood Pitoaré, next to the building of the Communauté Urbaine de Maroua. The cooperative encourages artisans of the region.
Tanner's distict On the southeastern outskirts you will find the district of the tanners.
Lamido Palace The Lamido Palace is located on the Avenue Kakataré, one of Maroua's main roads. Ask before you photograph the building.
Experience nature Maroua is sourrounded by several mountains, whose rise will be worth it because of the beautiful panorama. Also recommended is a walk along the Mayos which are filled with water during the rainy season. For walking are best early morning or late afternoon when the temperatures have not yet reached the maximum.
