Djinglia 15 km from Mokolo, on the Col de Koza, one of the most impressive scenic roads of Cameroon, lies the small village Djinglia. Coming from Mokolo, you will find on the entrance of the village the Centre Artisanal of the artisan's cooperative of Djinglia. The restaurant offers a beautiful view over the fascinating mountain scenery. You can sleep here too. Get a local tour guide for a hiking tour in the surrounding mountains.

Oudjilla From From Mora, a steep winding road leads to the mountain village of Oudjilla (800 m). The main tourist attraction is the Chefferie with a tradition of 200 years. The head of the Podoko lives here with about 50 women (he is the father of several 100 children) in a huge traditional Saré. Each of the wives has her own hut, two stores and a kitchen. A guided visit of the Saré costs about 6,000 CFA francs and takes about 1.5 hours.

Pouss A trip to the Lake Maga can be combined with a visit to the small village Pouss. The village is the center of the Mousgoum. The market of the village (on Tuesdays) is very intereting. Fish from the Lake Maga and and the river Logone is offered. A little outside the village you can visit an reconstructed Case Obus. Cases Obus are the traditional houses of the Mousgoum with domes up to 7 m. In the region around Pouss (eg Mourla), you can still see some of them. Today they are often used as millet stores.

Tourou The village of Tourou is 35 km away from Mokolo, right next to the Nigerian border. This place is particular known for its market, held on Thursdays. The women, members of the Goudour are wearing red-painted gourd halves on their heads. The head covering is a sign for married, engaged or a bridegroom promised women and girls.
Rhumsiki The village Rhumsiki is located in the heart of the Mandara Mountains (1,100 m) and is one of the main tourist attraction in the region. The prospect of the eroded volcanic vents is impressive. In Rhumsiki you will find a variety of hotels and restaurants - so the village is an ideal starting point for trekking tours (more info here). During a guided walk through the village you will be offered a lot of handicraft products. The place is particularly known for its crab oracle. The magician predicts with the help of his the future.

Mora About an hour's drive away from Maroua lies Mora. Mora is best known for its market held every Sunday - one of the most colorful of Cameroon. Mora is connected to Mokolo by the Col de Koza and is the ideal starting point for trips to Oudjilla and Djinglia.

Mokolo The small town is the center of the Mafa and is surrounded by hills and mountains of the Mandara Mountains. Mokolo is a great stopover on the way to Rhumsiki, Oudjilla and Djinglia (Col de Koza).
