Fascinating landscapes in the Far North Region

Let yourself be inspired by the beauty and diversity of landscapes in the extreme north. Each season has its special charm: Enjoy during the dry season, a stunning view over the expanse of the savannah. The rainy season (from July to October), however, fascinates by burgeoning vegetation.

Logone/Lake Maga The Lake Maga has been dammed to provide the region with water. During a trip on a pirogue you can see hippos and rare bird species. A daytrip from Maroua is well worth it.

Mandara Mountains The denuded volcanic plugs of the Mandara Mountains with a height up to 1.500 m line up impressively. The moon landscape around the village Rhumsiki has already been described by the author André Gide as one of the most beautiful regions of the world. Perfect for trekking tours!

Pic de Mindif Only 25 km southeast of Maroua the imposing Pic de Mindif thrones over the department of Mayo Kani. The climb rewards you with a fantastic view

Col de Koza The Col de Koza is one of the most impressive scenic roads of Cameroon (1.100 m). It connects Mokolo with Mora and meanders through a beautiful mountain scenery. Take an unforgettable experience! Oudjila and Djingliya and the National Park Mozogo Gokoro lie along the Col de Koza.!

Lake Chad At the northern tip of Cameroon lies the Lake Chad. The desert-like region on the shores of Lake Chad is rarely visited by tourists because there is no tourism infrastructure. A trip on a priogue to the island Kofia is possible. You can sleep in Waza or Kousseri. Tips: During the rainy season the swampy region is barely passable.
